Installation Requirements:
--------------------------
Hardware - Any old pc (at least a 300meg PII!) with an IDE cdrom and
a network card.
Software - This release and copy of RHEL 3 (we use CentOS, it's free!)
Install software:
-----------------
Install RHEL 3 with all packages except X windows
Make a directory to install from and put the install file there
mkdir /var/aah_load
cp asteriskathome-1.2.tar.gz /var/aah_load
cd /var/aah_load
Untar the file install file
tar xvfz asteriskathome-1.2.tar.gz
Install
./install.sh
When this is done reboot your system.
Open a web browser and brows to http://ipaddressofasterisk/
You can now configure you new Asterisk system!
For an even faster start download asteriskathome.iso.
-Burn this image to a blank CD
-Book your Asterisk PC with the CD and press enter
**NOTE: This will erase all data on the hard drive of the PC!!!
-After the Linux is loaded the CD will eject. Take out the CD
and wait for the system to reboot
-Booting the system might take a while it is building Asterisk.
-Log in to your new Asterisk@Home box (user:root, passwordassword)
**NOTE: CHANGER YOUR ROOT PASSWORD IMMEDIATELY by typing passwd
**Asterisk@Home boxes with default passwords have been hacked!!
-You can connect to http://ipaddress/ to configure your new system
(To access AMP use user:maint, passassword)
