Support status Freetz for Fritzbox 7390 international

Hi all,

Pardon my English but lets say that my German it's not up to scratch .

I'm trying to gather info on support for the new 7390 international version. I've seen there is a SVN branch http://trac.freetz.org/browser/branches/oliver/7390 for it but what's the current status, is it supported yet? Where can I get more info?

Hi,

currently the freetz for the 7390 is in developer status only.
the branch you posted above is correct.

It works on my 7390 without problems, but remember, you'll get no support for this - it's in developer state!

Just to clarify:

The Fritzbox 7390 International version uses Annex A for ADSL over analog line instead of Annex B as I understand it's used in Germany. Its also in English language. To my knowledge that's the only difference.

Unfortunately that is a very 'easy' assumption..

As far as I can remember, AVM has proven in the past that Fritzbox models (for example, the 7270) can have much more differences between the German and the International model than Annex B vs. Annex A alone. Even hardware and chips used can differ significantly.

That would also explain why firmwares for the international model alway arrive so late compared to the German one, my hunch is that this delay is not caused by translation and Annex-X issues alone. It would also explain why international models are always so unstable jjust after the initial release, while you would think that they already have some experience from bugs/errors from the German model.

But anyway, I would be interested in Freetz support for the international model as well. But as I understand, a downloadable (source) firmware from AVM for it would be necessary to only begin the porting process.

My 7390 International Edition (Art.Nr. 2000 2484) has arrived.

It supports Annex A and Annex B. The language of the user interface can be selected.

It came with firmware version 84.04.83.

Let's hope that AVM make a downloadable firmware available soon.

So far there is no downloadable firmware for the 7390 International edition.
