Hallo Community.

Meine Box Funktioniert nicht mehr.

Ich denke ein Blitzschlag könnte das verursacht haben ;-( war schon ziemlich hell und laut draußen :mad:

Die Lanports sind Wohl TOT ;-( Windows sagt Netzwerkkabel nicht angeschlossen. Hab einige Netzwerkkabel, Ports und Computer Probiert.

Wlan hat noch kurz Funktioniert, wollte ein Update machen jetzt geht nichts mehr.

Vielleicht hat jemand eine Idee. Nach 17 Sekunden macht der Teufel nix mehr... ;-(

Falls jemand Fragt... Ich bin nicht versichert! Deshalb hab ich gleich drauf herumgelötet ;)

Er schreibt auch hin das er das Netzwerk Modul nicht laden kann ;-(

"avmnet" sollte eigentlich recht vollständig in den Quelltexten enthalten sein, die von AVM veröffentlicht werden - erst recht swi_vr9.c, aus dem die Meldungen m.E. hier stammen. Die Konfiguration für die konkrete Belegung der Ports dürfte hier in "drivers/net/avm_cpmac/configs/config_HW185.h" stehen und - sollte es irgendwann einmal möglich werden, daß man sich selbst einen funktionierenden Kernel übersetzen kann, wir warten im Moment auf korrigierte Quelltext-Pakete von AVM - es müßte theoretisch auch möglich sein, dort die Definition für "hw185_avmnet_mac_7port_1" komplett zu entfernen (das ist nur "LAN4") und dann natürlich auch für "hw185_avmnet_phy_ar803x_1", was der PHY für diesen Port ist.

Das ist ohnehin einer der beiden Ports, die einen externen PHY verwenden (eth2+eth3 benutzen avmnet_phy_ar803x_0+1, eth0+1 den internen avmnet_phy_11G_0+1) und den könnte man ggf. auch versuchen zu finden (ich kenne aber das Platinen-Layout auch nicht und weiß weder, was es für ein Chip ist noch wo er sich befindet) und (mit SMD-Lötfertigkeiten) zu ersetzen.

Ob das LAN per se tatsächlich "tot" ist, sollte man am ehesten in den ersten fünf Sekunden nach "power on" feststellen können - hier natürlich nicht an "LAN4" und vorsichtshalber auch nicht an LAN3, falls da ein Chip den PHY für beide enthält, obwohl ich sogar vermuten würde, daß LAN3 (eth2) vorher schon zurückgesetzt werden konnte (das Setup sollte über die Ports 5, 0, 1, 2 und 4 laufen, in dieser Reihenfolge sind die "children" jedenfalls definiert, port_0 wäre "eth2").

Ich würde vermuten, daß zumindest LAN1 und LAN2 in der EVA noch richtig initialisiert werden können ("avmnet" bricht halt vermutlich wegen des Fehlers im geladenen Kernel an dieser Stelle ab und damit funktionieren auch die Ports mit unbeschädigten PHYs nicht - wenn man ganz sichergehen will, sucht man sich die Stelle, wo über die Portdefinitionen iteriert wird und prüft, ob die o.a. Folge der Definitionen bei der Initialisierung auch eingehalten wird) ... wenn das funktioniert, könnte sich der Einsatz tatsächlich lohnen und die Frage wäre dann nur, ob man eher die Hardware reparieren will (PHY-Chip finden auf dem PCB, auslöten, Ersatz finden und einlöten) oder es erst einmal mit einer modifizierten Konfiguration versucht - ggf. muß man zusätzlich noch die Ports "umnummerieren" oder CONFIG-Variablen ändern, damit da niemand ein Setup mit getrenntem LAN-Port für das Gastnetz versucht - aber es gibt ja auch Boxen mit demselben "Grundlayout" und nur einem einzelnen herausgeführten LAN-Port (z.B. die 7412).
 
@PeterPawn Auch wenn dieser Beitrag schon sehr alt ist, ist er mir in der Suche aufgefallen, als ich das gleiche Problem bekommen habe. Meine alte 7490 startete immer wieder neu. Nachdem ich den seriellen Port angelötet habe und über einen Adapter auf die Konsole zugreifen konnte, habe ich festgestellt, dass ich die gleiche Kernel Panic erhalte und auch die Probleme mit dem phy_ar803x_1 habe. Wenn ich beim EVA Prompt eine Taste drücke, dann ist auf LAN2 ein Link und ich kann einen neue Firmware über FTP übertragen. Soweit so gut. Daraufhin habe ich mir deinen Vorschlag angeschaut und versucht den Kernel zu patchen und den zweiten PHY Chip zu deaktivieren. Nun bootet die Box wieder, aber auf keinem Port ist danach ein Link vorhanden. Habe ich vielleicht zu viel ausgebaut? Hast du noch einen Hinweis für mich?

Das war ja alles noch zu den Zeiten, wo bei AVM die Hardware-Konfiguration tatsächlich noch "fest" in den Kernel einkompiliert wurde. Heutzutage ist das deutlich anders (suche mal nach avm_kernel_config) und wenn die Box mit neuerer Firmware betrieben werden soll, muß man vermutlich andere Wege gehen.

Ein möglicher Ansatz wäre es, das geänderte Vorgehen von AVM (wenn bestimmte Teile der Hardware nicht mehr funktionieren, soll die ganze Box unbrauchbar sein -> "kernel panic" bei Initialisierungsfehlern) wieder rückgängig zu machen - ich gehe jedenfalls davon aus, daß diese Art der Fehlerbehandlung bei AVM nicht darauf basiert, daß dabei irgendwelche "Folgeprobleme" auftreten, sondern daß man eine eindeutige "black-or-white-decision" haben wollte, um sich unnötige "Diagnose-Schritte" über den Support zu ersparen und lieber (vermeintlich komplett) "defekte" Geräte auszutauschen, was irgendwann (nach längerer Diagnose) ja ohnehin erfolgen würde.

Ich würde also in einem ersten Schritt hier mal die Fehlerbehandlung bei AVM so ändern, daß es NICHT mehr zu einer "kernel panic" kommt ... dabei fällt mir natürlich auch auf, daß Du zwar etwas zu einer solchen schreibst, es sich aber bei den gezeigten Ausgaben auf der seriellen Schnittstelle (in #1) gar nicht um einen Fall handelt, wo der Kernel sofort das Handtuch wirft, wenn ein Fehler aufgetreten ist. Da wäre dann doch das "eigene" Protokoll erheblich hilfreicher - zuviel an Information kann es eigentlich (fast) nie geben.

Schaue ich mir die Quellen für die 07.27 der 7490 an (größere Unterschiede zwischen dieser Version und der ebenfalls bei AVM verfügbaren 07.29 (http://osp.avm.de/fritzbox/fritzbox-7490/source-files-FRITZ.Box_7490-vr9-07.29.tar.gz) sind nicht zu erwarten), würde ich an Deiner Stelle in der Datei linux/drivers/net/avm_cpmac/phy/avmnet_ar8033.c mit der Suche beginnen - das BUG(); in Zeile 318 KÖNNTE(!) die Ursache für den harten Fehler sein. Aber das sollte sich mit den richtigen(!) Fehlermeldungen VOR dem Absturz noch besser eingrenzen lassen ...

Alternativ kann man auch versuchen, den FDT im Konfigurationsbereich des Kernels (siehe avm_kernel_config - der darin enthaltene FDT-Blob (aber bitte denjenigen für die richtige HWSubRevision und das ist immer derjenige mit der geringsten Differenz zum Wert aus der Box) läßt sich mit den richtigen Werkzeugen auch wieder in einen Quelltext verwandeln) zu ändern - das wäre heutzutage die Stelle, wo die Konfiguration der Box hinterlegt ist und wo bei aktueller Firmware Änderungen vorzunehmen wären, wenn sie Auswirkungen haben sollen.

Warum jetzt die von Dir bereits ausgeführten Änderungen auch den Effekt hatten/haben, daß die Box nicht mehr mit "kernel panic" abstürzt, kann ich nicht einschätzen ... auch dafür fehlen eben die entsprechenden Protokolle und die darin enthaltenen Meldungen. Sollte ich raten, würde ich vermuten (anhand der Beschreibung, wie sich die Box danach verhält), daß Du irgendwo die komplette Initialisierung der Ethernet-PHYs lahmgelegt hast - aber alles nur "nach Gefühl" (auch wenn es kein Frühstücksei ist).
 
Danke für deine vielen Ideen. Bei der ganzen Analyse gerade ist mir aufgefallen, dass der Start nur ging, als ich im Kernel den AVM Netzwerkstack deaktiviert habe und der Patch doch nichts gebracht hat.
Deshalb hier erst einmal der Log mit der Kernel Panic. Vielleicht findest du darin noch einen Ansatz für mich, damit ich aus der Box noch so viel wie möglich raus holen kann.

Bis hier sind das Zeilen aus dem normalen Kernel-Log auf /dev/console (nur ein Zeitstempel), ab jetzt geht es bei den letzten Zeilen des Kernel-Logs, die Bestandteil des Crash-Protokolls sind, weiter. Die Zeilen beginnen bei:

Die Netzwerk-Initialisierung beginnt - der PHY antwortet aber nicht wie erwartet und nach 10 vergeblichen Versuchen wird der Vorgang (und alle weiteren) abgebrochen:

Das ist zwar nicht die Stelle, die ich (im Trockentest) vermutete, aber ich schrieb ja schon weiter oben, daß das nur eine Vermutung wäre hinsichtlich der konkreten Stelle, wo das "zuständige" BUG()-Makro aufgerufen wird und man mit den "echten" Protokolleinträgen das genauer sehen würde.



Damit wäre der erste Schritt weiterhin, den Konfigurationsbereich auszulesen (https://github.com/PeterPawn/YourFritz/blob/main/avm_kernel_config/extract_avm_kernel_config.c) und den darin gefundenen FDT in Textform zu bringen (https://github.com/PeterPawn/dtc/blob/main/fdtdump.c - oder die originalen Quellen: https://github.com/dgibson/dtc), damit man sich die Struktur anschauen kann, bevor man irgendwelche Versuche startet, darin Daten (konkret diejenigen, die mit dem defekten phy_ar803x_1 in Verbindung stehen) zu löschen oder zu ändern.

Wenn das Problem durch einfaches "Weglassen" dieses einen PHY in der Konfiguration behoben werden kann, braucht es keine weiteren Änderungen an irgendwelchem C-Code für den Kernel - man könnte dann sogar darüber nachdenken, die erforderlichen Änderungen nicht durch das Kompilieren eines kompletten eigenen Kernels auszuführen (hier fehlt ohnehin noch die Info, wie/womit Du zu diesem eigenen Kernel kommst - ich tippe mal auf Freetz oder Freetz-NG; aber man kann das natürlich auch "von Hand" machen), sondern nur den FDT in avm_kernel_config zu patchen (man kann auch den/das ganze(n) FDT-BLOB ersetzen) und den Kernel danach direkt wieder zusammenpacken.
 
Vielen Dank für deine super Analyse. Ich habe den neuen Kernel über Freetz-ng gebaut. Nun versuche ich über deine Tools den FDT umzuwandeln, aber bekomme es nicht hin. Die Kernel-Config konnte ich extrahieren. Jetzt hänge ich aber am fdtdump. Über Scan bekomme ich folgendes Ergebnis, aber weiter weiß ich nicht.

Hmm ... der FDT im avm_kernel_config-Bereich scheint unvollständig bzw. per se nur ein "Teilbaum" zu sein (der praktisch nur das Pinout der GPIO-Pins beschreibt, was sich im laufenden System unter /proc/driver/ifx_gpio wiederfindet), was darauf hindeuten könnte, daß der erst noch mit anderen Nodes gemischt werden muß.

Andererseits paßt das irgendwie nicht dazu, daß die alten Hardware-Beschreibungen (siehe avm_generate_hw_config_table_from_device_tree) aus dem FDT generiert werden. Wenn es da noch andere Quellen für Konfigurationsdaten geben sollte (bei der 7490 ist das ja ohnehin nur irgendein "shim", bei GRX5-Boxen übergibt der Bootloader dem Kernel den kompletten FDT, afaik), muß man die erst einmal finden (bevor man sie dann ändern kann) ... am ehesten durch die Analyse der o.g. Funktion in den Kernel-Quellen. Gut möglich, daß ich da VR9 und GRX5 durcheinander gebracht habe - ich befasse mich in letzter Zeit nur noch wenig mit dem FRITZ!OS und den verschiedenen AVM-Modellen. Mittlerweile franst das ohnehin bei AVM immer weiter aus, was Architektur, Struktur und Version des Linux-Kernels (und auch der C-Library fürs "user land") angeht - da kann man schon mal den Überblick verlieren (ich vermute sogar, den Leuten bei AVM ergeht es dabei ähnlich, außer die haben mittlerweile auch so ihre "Spezialisierungen" auf Plattformen bzw. SoC).

Ich weiß aber nicht, ob ich selbst in absehbarer Zeit dazu komme, in die 7490-Quellen zu schauen (und das muß dann schon etwas genauer sein, wenn man die Zusammenhänge aufdecken will) ... da bist Du ggf. auf Dich allein gestellt (lieber sage ich das gleich deutlich, als irgendwelche Versprechen abzugeben). Ich bin schon dadurch extrem verblüfft, daß ich auf die Schnelle in einer 07.39 für die 7490 KEINE Pseudo-Datei für die Kernel-Symbole (/proc/kallsyms) finde - kann mich aber auch nicht mehr wirklich daran erinnern, ob die bei DIESEM Modell (und der verwendeten Version des Linux-Kernels) jemals vorhanden war (obwohl die Option deutlich länger existiert, denn der 2.6.irgendwas-Kernel der 6490 HAT die Symboltabelle im Kernel (das versteht sich ja ohnehin) und stellt sie auch über das procfs zur Verfügung).

So, wie der Teilbaum oben aussieht, wird wohl in der o.g. Funktion nur über bereits existierende Hardware und die zugehörigen Strukturen im Speicher iteriert und die Nummer des jeweiligen GPIO-Pins (ggf. noch mit den Charakteristika für die Ein-/Ausgabe von Signalen über den Pin) überschrieben - oder man geht den Teilbaum durch und verarbeitet dort dann Eintrag für Eintrag. Ohne Blick in den Quelltext ist alles nur Spekulation ...
 
Macht es hier vielleicht Sinn ein älteres FritzOS zu nehmen mit einem älteren Kernel? Habe ich dann mehr Möglichkeiten?
 
Da müßtest Du schon seeehr weit zurück und irgendwann auch mal wieder vorwärts, weil die älteren Versionen löchrig sind - dann stehst Du erneut vor dem Problem.
 
da kann noch mehr kommen - der WLAN-SOC wird von dem Clockout des PHY AR8035 ( _1 - LAN4) versorgt,
und falls der zweite AR8035 richtig tot ist, gibts den bootloop halt später , wenn die Hürde mit dem ar803x_1 hanging überwunden ist
ich würde erstmal prüfen, ob einer der AR8035 heiss wird, dann ist der tot
 
Ich habe doch mal in die Quellen geschaut ... die grundlegende Initialisierung der avmnet-Komponenten erfolgt ja doch weiterhin in den Dateien unterhalb von drivers/net/avm_cpmac und die konkreten Komponenten basieren auf den Angaben in der Datei drivers/net/avm_cpmac/configs/config_HW185.h.

Bei num_children=0 wird also der setup()-Aufruf für diesen PHY übergangen und es dürfte erst einmal nicht länger direkt zu einem Problem kommen.

Natürlich wird dann der PHY immer noch nicht richtig funktionieren ... aber solange es dann nicht an der nächsten Stelle ebenfalls zu einer "kernel panic" kommt (weil irgendwo ein BUG()-Makro aufgerufen wird), kann man sich zumindest erst einmal ansehen, was da sonst noch im Argen liegt.

Alles andere (bis hin zum Entfernen der avm_devices) würde ich erst einmal gar nicht anfassen ... immerhin ging es "früher" ja auch dann noch, wenn ein PHY nicht richtig initialisiert werden konnte - wenn ich das jetzt nicht wieder mit den Puma-Geräten verwechsele.

Aber das kriegst Du selbst raus ... entweder einfach durch Probieren mit den o.a. Änderungen (zumindest die Fehlermeldungen sollten sich dann auch ändern) oder durch den Vergleich mit älteren Kernel-Quellen, wo ggf. dieses setup() (wenn's das überhaupt schon so lange gibt) nicht mit einem BUG() endet bei einem Problem. Welche "Folgeprobleme" dabei noch auftreten werden, weiß ich auch nicht ... nur wirst Du die auch nicht zu Gesicht bekommen, solange der Kernel bereits beim o.g. Fehlerbild in Schweiß ausbricht und in Panik gerät.

Bei der Durchsicht der Quellen ist mir noch ein (mir bis dahin unbekannter) Kernel-Parameter no_avmnet=1 aufgefallen - gibt man den beim Start des Kernels mit an (entweder in kernel_args, kernel_args1 oder kernel_args_tmp), sollte das gesamte AVM-Netzwerk nicht gestartet werden ... das macht natürlich nur bei einer Box Sinn, wo man zumindest die Serielle auch bestückt hat. Aber auch damit sollte man über die "kernel panic" hinweg kommen - wäre nur die Frage, was es einem am Ende nutzt.
