Apologies for the English posting, my German is terrible.

This is with a Fritz!Box 7170 (annex A, international version), being used in Belgium.

When I connect an analog phone through the box and placing PSTN calls, the sound level is so low I can barely hear the conversation. When the same phone is connected directly to the ADSL splitter box, the sound level is OK.

I have also a ISDN PBX connected to the S0 port of the 7170. Again, the sound level is low. I have been unable to test the ISDN PBX on my analog line (obviously) but it worked fine on my previous ISDN line.

I spent several days with the friendly AVM support team. We tried disconnecting all ethernet interfaces, turn WLAN off, etc to save power. To no avail in the end, and they finally sent me a new box. Unfortunately, the new one exhibits the same issue. I also replaced the special cable AVM includes with the box, but it did not help either.

I was wondering if other people have encountered the same behaviour and would welcome suggestions on how to solve this.

Many thanks for your help.

First of all I assume your on an analogue line.
I have been connected with the 7170 International version Annex A 58.04.34 to our local (Greek) telephone system and had no problems whatsoever
