[Problem] Blocking incoming calls based on a number pattern on Go Box 100

Hallo Zusammen,
apologies for writing my post in English.

My query relates to blocking incoming calls based on a number pattern/prefix.

My configuration is as follows:
Go Box 100 base (firmware 42,263) logged on to my VOIP provider; router is a TP-Link Deco X50-5G; Until now my handsets are 2 x CL660HX. This configuration is in place for several years and working well. I recently added 1 x Comfort 520HX handset which is also working well for all normal functions.

I purchased the C520HX as I could see from the user guide an instruction to block incoming calls by number pattern – I am receiving spam calls from some european countries and would like to block these calls by country code/partial country code. (I can already block calls based on the complete phone number from both CL660HX & C520HX handsets).

As per the C520HX user guide section called "Displaying/Editing the blacklist", it states:

"Another entry: Options > New entry > OK > enter the number > Save
Blocking a number range:
Only enter the starting digits of the number Confirm the Add
this number as a pattern? prompt with Yes"

However, from my C520HX setting menu I cannot see this option to block by number pattern?

My questions are as follows:
1. Should my Go Box 100/C520HX combination, be able to accept a rule to block incoming calls by number pattern?

2. If No to above, which Gigaset base station would support this feature with my current handsets?

3. If No to above, please suggest a cost effective way to get this working with my current handsets?

To add, if I was to invest in a new base station, one feature I'd like to have (but not essential) is 3 way/conference calling.

1. The 520HX was made for the newer Gigaset IP Base. It is possible, that not all menu items are shown or features are supported with the older GoBox 100 Base.

2. see above.

3. maybe your voip provider already offers a blacklist within your account settings.

Which firmware version is actually installed on the 520HX handset? Is it possible to update the handset via OTA?

1. Good to know re IP Base and your following points.

2. I'm going to try get an IP Base. I had a look on Ebay and some other second hand stores and the one I found was expensive, so will keep a look out.

3. Yes I did ask my provider and they do offer a blacklist feature via their web interface, however it only allows complete numbers to be entered which is the same as I have with my Go Box 100.

Re C520HX firmware. The phone as new had ver 133.005.02 installed and OTA (from the handset) did not offer an upgrade.

Re the blacklist, on further investigation I found a control (tick box) on the C520HX menu at Settings|System|Handset Blocklist (not shown on CL660HX). If I switch this on and then go to Settings|Telephony|Blacklist, the central blacklist (stored on the Go Box) is not shown as normal and instead a blank list is shown. I then enter a new number and interestingly it allows me to specify a prefix/partial number. As a test I added the first 3 digits of my mobile phone no to the blacklist and then made a call from my mobile: The C520HX ignored the call, however my other handsets did ring as normal and the call eventually went to voicemail. I think this will be useful to me to filter out unwanted calls. So the question now is: was this the way this feature was designed to work in full, or if my C520HX was connected to a supporting base, e.g. IP Base, would it allow partial numbers to be stored in the central blacklist?

Re making a conference call, I followed your instructions and could make a call between two internal and an external party. Useful to know, however my requirement is mostly for a call between one internal and two external parties and I already have a way to do this via my VOIP provider - connecting to my provider using a Windows SIP client (MicroSIP) allows me to do this, but its not that convenient. Following on from your instructions and more test calls, I found a way to do this from both CL660HX and C520HX handsets as follows:
-Establish call to external call (Party A)
-From the Options menu, select Consultation (A hears music on hold).
-Enter an external number and establish a call to B. You can then talk to B (A still hears MOH).
-Then select Conf. and hey presto you have a three way conference with two external parties. Brilliant!
