Fritz 7240,7270(models with usb2.0), what is your ftp transfer rate ?

Hi,
i have 7240, currently using freetz 6780 with vsftp.
My average transfer rate from ext3 partition connected through usb hub to fritzbox is 3000kbytes/s
Is this max what i can get ?


I'll add that transfer between my 2 computers through samba in the same network connected with this fritz is about 10000kbytes/s

This is my transfer ratio between a Win7Pro64Bit over WLAN (150 MBit) over I-Net to Fritzbox 7270v3 with Freetz (see signature).

thanks, this is really poor transfer rate... i shouldn't be mad for my own. I have 1800 kbytes/s(fritz-->computer) over 54 MBit WLAN. Same WLAN give me 2700 kbytes/s when transfering between 2 computers.

are you sure that kBit ? because 4500kBit = 562.5 kbytes which would be a very poor transfer.

As I don't have vsftpd right now I tried with AVM's ftpd:
Read speeds for ext2, ext3 and fat are ~5 MB/s. Write speeds are very different: 2 MB/s fat, 1 MB/s ext2 (1GB USB-Stick)

I could never figure out why write speeds differ so much depending on the filesystem.

ok thanks guys, so i see that i have not optimal transfer speed and there is something to do better. I will start trying to figure out why my transfer isn't optimal.

@avathar: Sorry, i see you want to know FTP-rate. I had posted my SAMBA-rate.

FTP: 1.560 kbytes (lokal WLAN)

these settings are for samba and i was using vsftp for test. But i have these setting under samba and under samba i have a little lower transfer.
Did you removed orginal fritz stuff like samba,ftp during compilation of freetz ?

And that is interesting that you have slower ftp than samba. I always thought that ftp should be faster.
