Gigaset hat mit dem Release 2.68.0 für N870(E)/N770/N670/N610 das Software Update Over The Air (SUOTA) freigeschaltet. Gleichzeitig wird aber in den FAQ darauf hingewiesen, dass die Funktion in groß angelegten Systemumgebungen offenbar noch nicht getestet worden ist. Bitte daher unbedingt lesen.

Software Update Over The Air (SUOTA) — Feature Availability Notice
We are pleased to announce that Software Update Over The Air (SUOTA) has been implemented for our DECT handset portfolio, enabling wireless firmware updates without the need for physical intervention or manual device handling.
Important Notice for Large-Scale Deployments
While SUOTA has been successfully validated in standard deployment scenarios, this feature has not yet undergone comprehensive testing in large-scale system environments. Customers operating installations with a high number of DECT handsets should exercise caution before deploying over-the-air updates across their full infrastructure.
We strongly recommend the following precautions for large systems:

• Perform updates in controlled, staged rollouts rather than initiating simultaneous updates across all devices.
• Validate the update process on a representative subset of handsets before proceeding with a full deployment.
• Ensure adequate network capacity and system resources are available during the update window.
• Monitor system performance closely throughout the update process.

We are actively working to extend our testing coverage to large-scale environments and will provide updated guidance as validation is completed. In the meantime, please contact our technical support team if you require assistance planning a safe update strategy for your deployment.

Für Gigaset hören mittlere Installationsgrößen bei 250 Mobilteilen auf, große bei 20000. Ich denke nicht, dass das irgendjemanden betrifft, der hier im Forum vorbeikommt.

Diese Hinweise speziell für groß angelegte Systemumgebungen waren in der ursprünglichen "FAQ - SUOTA Push" so aber noch nicht enthalten und sind dort erst nachträglich ergänzt worden. Wenn man solche wesentlichen Hinweise nachträglich ergänzt und bestimmte Funktionen derzeit auch nur bei der kleineren N670 freischaltet, dann geschieht das nicht grundlos.

Ja, ok und was hat das mit SUOTA und meinem Einwand zu tun, dass 'large-scale' hier im Forum wohl eher nicht vorkommen wird?

Dann hätten wir vermutlich eine Grundsatzdiskussion, was genau unter "large-scale system environments" zu verstehen ist. Die genannte Grundproblematik wird aber mittlerweile auch an anderen Stellen diskutiert.

Wo bekommt man denn die SUOTA-.bin-Datei her?
So wie ich es sehe, muss man entweder einen Link (zur .bin-Datei) oder die .bin-Datei selbst in die BS hochladen.
Leider finde ich keinen Links. Der Link vom Beispielscreenshot (etwas angepasst) geht:

Die N670, hab das S700H mit der 13.04.
Wollte die 13.04.bin runterladen und schauen ob auf der SUOTA-Seite mein S700H auftaucht mit "Upgradeable 0/1".

Dann bitte einmal nachlesen, was genau in den beiden verlinkten FAQs jeweils unter "Minimum Size" bei "Medium size system" sowie "Enterprise (Large) size system" den Unterschied ausmacht. Die Anzahl der Handset wie in #2 genannt ist es übrigens nicht.

Die Funktion "Select line for outgoing call" gibt es nur für N530/N610/N670.

Die SUOTA Push Firmware files SW 13.04 u.a. für das S700H gibt es jetzt auch zum direkten Download.
