Hi,

i have a FritzBox 7141 with a voipbuster account.
I can use this account to make calls to fixed line numbers.

But i would like to use this account to call computer voipbuster.
What is strange is that i can make this call (and being called),
but the other part don't hear me.

So to a fixed-line everything is fine,
but to or from a "computer" account, the other person don't hear anything.

Here's my configuration :

Registrar : sip.voipbuster.com
Proxy Server : sip.voipbuster.com

What about the checkbox : "Use internet number for registration" ?
Do i have to check it ?

Thanks for the help.

Hello warp_be,

I have had this Problem too. I have used for the call though "wengo" .You can set your voipbuster in this softfone . Search for "wengo" in Google and download it fee. Try to install it and use it for both sites .( I think that You and your freind must have the same softfone. Otherweise you can try it one site alone for you at first)
Have sucess !

Thanks for the answer,

but the goal is not to use any softphone.
Just have my pysical phone directly connected to the fritz!box.

....and it works for calls on fixed-line.

I continue to investigate.

What exactly are you trying to do?

Does that mean you make calls through the FBF 7141 and voipbuster to fixed-line numbers without problems, or do these calls use a fixed-line telephone connection of the 7141 and not use VoIP at all? Can you clarify whether there is only voipbuster and no fixed-line connection on the 7141?

What is a "computer voipbuster"? If a user does not have a number, but only an alphanumeric nickname in voipbuster, you either have to use the softphone, or you should define a shorthand code for [email protected] in the FBF 7141. With this shortcode you may then dial the SIP-URI.

So, another question: how do you call the other party? Using their DID number?

What is strange is that i can make this call (and being called),

Do you hear the other party or don't you hear the other side?
If the other party can't hear you, it means that either the outgoing data stream does not go out (maybe bandwidth problems) or the incoming data stream at the other side does not work (port forwarding may be needed there).

No.

I use the voipbuster account to call fixed-line.
My fixed-line is not connected to my fritz!box.

That's right. I define a shortcut inside my fritz!box to a voipbuster account [email protected] which is, let's say, **701, and i use that shortcut (**701) on my phone.

So, another question: how do you call the other party? Using their DID number?
For now the other part has no DID, just a voipbuster account.

Do you hear the other party or don't you hear the other side?
Yes i hear the other party, but he doesn't hear me.

Maybe some rules to define, but why does it work for fixed-line calls......strange.

Thanks for your help.

The difference is that fixed-line calls (and any others to "numbers") will go through voipbuster and their termination services. With direct calls, you probably talk directly to the other party's network, or there is some specialty about making SIP-URI calls.

I would suspect that you won't notice problems if you call other parties who use the voipbuster softphone, but have problems with some parties using SIP devices. Could you verify that?

For now people i make tests with are only connected
with the voipbuster softphone,
so i can't make further tests from SIP phone to SIP phone.
