Windws XP/ Fritz Box Fon WLAN 7140: wrong ip address

Ich elkäre meine Probleme auf english, da ich kann mir besser ausdrücken; sie dürfen auf Deutsch antworten.

I have a Fritz!Box Fon Wlan 7140, and two computers: A laptop with a dual system Windows/Linux, and another pc with Windows XP-SP2
When I connect the FritzBox to the laptop, either in Windows or in Linux, everything is fine; I open a browser and type 'fritz.box' and I can see the 'Benutzerflache' of the Fitz!Box; I can connect to the internet without problem; I get always an Ip-address: 192.168.178.22. A little icon in the Windows System Trays says that the "Fritz!Box is both Router and DSL-Modem".

But the problem comes with the other PC. I try to do the things in the very orthodox way; I insert the Fritz CD and it reckognices my LAN Network card; then it tries to reach the Fritz!Box and it says that I should turn off all my firewalls, because it can't reach the 'Benutzerflache'.
I guess that the 'physical' connection exists.
So I restart the PC and follow everything in the Fritz's Handbook: turn off firewall, type the ip-adress of the fritz box in the browser. Nothing.
After restarting the pc, the LAN-icon in the system tray doesn't have an "x", but a "!" symbol and a very strange ip-address. I change the LAN-ip address to a fixed one, and I type the address of the laptop; then something pops up in the laptop "conflict with another computer...".
What is going on?

I called to the AOL service, and after half an hour (in a non-free number) the guy told me to "re-install Windows".
I wrote to the guys from AVM. They acknowledged, but after a week, no real answer yet.

Is there somehing which prevents my PC to get an automatic Ip address from the fritz box?
I don't want to, but should I re-install Windows? it would be such a big hassle!

What I want to achieve actually (in priority's order):
- that my two computers can access Internet through the fritz box with my AOL account
- that my two computers know each other, using the fritz!box as a router
- eventually to connect to the Internet using another provider's account (that's not that urgent)

This address is already taken by the Laptop; try an IP-Adress like 192.168.178.19 (it should be in the range 192.168.178.2 - .19 or .201 - .253.

Does this work - can you reach the Fritz!Box and the Internet now?

Something weird happened. I borrowed to a colleague a Network Card and I connected it to my PC. I tried to connect through this borrowed Card: the same. I restarted the PC and connected the Box to my OWN card: it works!

My first thouht was that some kind of 'banner' catches a 'first-found' card and prevents its comunication, allowing the next ones... gibberish.. I guess.
I uninstalled my 'firewalls' (Sygate and Kerio) and disabled the Windows-Firewall.
Nothing.
I restarted and reseted the Fritz!Box. I reinstalled Sygate: it works.
I used the fixed ip-address 192.168.178.21 and I won't change it back to Ip-Automatic.
