We have now put a beta-release of 3.18 on our site.
Beta-release 1 of 3.18 is only available for IX67 models:
This is a hidden link, the release is not public yet. In fact, as the name tells, it is only a beta-release. This is only for you guys reading IX Central!
NOTE: This beta-release is provided "as-is". Intertex does not support it officially. You cannot contact neither our resellers' nor Intertex's support with questions about the beta-release.
But of course will we try to help you through this site!
New features in 3.18beta1:
=====================
* The major reason for this release is the improved wireless code. We hope to have corrected all wireless stability issues.
* Improved voice stability during heavy load
* FAX passthrough
* Improved Windows Messenger 5.1 compability
* FXS supports RFC 3840 UA capability
* SIP proxy forking based on UA capabilities
* LAN SIParator renamed to LAN SIPenabler
* global IP address detected automatically in LAN SIPenabler mode
* DynDNS client updates global IP in LAN SIPenabler mode
* WLAN client
* FXS DTMF caller ID
If suddenly caller ID stops working on the phone attached to your IX67 it might be because your IX67 started using DTMF caller ID instead of V.23 caller ID and your phone does not support it.
Open your Telephone Ports page, select Advanced Settings for Telephone Ports and adjust your Caller ID mode setting.
The Network Configuration page has been improved: now you can select different operational modes and use WLAN client as WAN.
Operational Modes
==============
Router : your IX67 works just as it always used to, as a router firewall.
LAN SIPenabler : (only visible if SIP switch has been purchased) your IX67 is transformed into a LAN SIPenabler (aka LAN SIParator), working as a non-transparent SIP proxy. This code is still in beta.
It also switches ALL your Ethernet ports into one subnet, making the rear end of your IX67 work just as any switch. The WAN port is the UPLINK port and should be connected to your existing network. Ports ET1..ET4 are connected to the WAN port just as in any switch.
AIR is still NATed, firewalled and routed however, on its own subnet. You should not attempt to bridge it to the Ethernet ports. (Doesn't work yet.)
Read more about the LAN SIPenabler at: http://www.intertex.se/upfiles/TheLANSIParator.ppt
Except the last slide is a bit different: now you select LAN SIPenabler up right on the Network Config page, and the outside (global) IP is filled in automatically.
If you enable dynamic IP on the Network page the outside (global) IP will be checked every 10 minutes for changes. You can also configure a dynamic DNS account that becomes updated with the global IP in such cases.
Telephone Adapter : (only visible on voice GW models) converts your IX67 into an ATAbox + Ethernet switch.
IX67's WAN port works as UPLINK port and should be connected to your local network. Ports ET1..ET4 are switched to the WAN port and work as just any Ethernet switch.
AIR is still NATed, firewalled and routed however, on its own subnet. You should not attempt to bridge it to the Ethernet ports. (Doesn't work yet.)
AIR client as WAN
==============
Usually the wireless antenna of the IX67 works as a wireless access point. Now it can be reversed into being a wireless client. Then your IX67 can connect to some other WLAN AP, as a wireless client.
You activate it by clicking on the dashed lines between Internet and the antenna, above the back side image of the IX67 on the Network Config page.
This also selects AIR as your WAN connection, and disables the WAN port. Please do not connect anything to the WAN port while using the wireless client for WAN connection!
To select which AP to connect to click on the antenna, click on "View Available Wireless Networks" and select the network you want to connect to.
To revert back to using Ethernet WAN port for WAN connection click on the WAN port on the back side image of the IX67 on the Network Config page.
