Hi all,

apologies for the English, but my German is very poor!

I have an English 7050 and my isp has given me a /24 to route to my network. I contacted AVM but they say that the software does not allow one to turn off the NAT!

Is there a way to modify the software to route real addresses to my network, preferably with firewalling intact?

I tried to install ds-mod but it doesn't like the English firmware (plus it is trying to download from www.eiband.info which does not exist).

Ideas please?

MfG

AVM is not really wrong :-( It is not intended to turn off NAT (it's done by the dsld and this deamon is needed for internet access.) AFAIK there is only one Thread claiming a successfull way without NAT, but this one is without pppoe...

So no good news, but of course you might try OpenWrt but then won't be able to use the phone part.

Thanks Jörg, it looks like I'll be replacing this router.

Hi, I know, that's a real problem with the fritz-boxes.
But, I'm not sure if I made my first statement clear: You might try to install a different router-firmware on the fritzbox (OpenWRT) which would be able to serve your needs but you can't use the phones anymore because all the phone related code is not GPL...

I looked at OpenWRT but it appears to be incomplete for the FritzBox.

I'm going to build a pfsense box instead - it's opensource all the way for me in future.

Thanks for the help.

Interesting project (though I would prefer a "smaller" HW for the power consumption).

Good luck!

Kostenlos!
