I have big problems with the number of vdsl disconnects (sometimes 10 per day) both with the .86 labor and release. I never had these probs with .83 (only 1 zwangstrennung disconnect per day)

I am now considering replacing the vdsl related drivers in the .86 firmware by the older versions taken from .83

Some files I will try to replace are:
/lib/modules/2.6.19.2/kernel/drivers/dsld
/usr/bin/vdsl and /usr/bin/vdsld

Did anyone of you try this before? I would be grateful for any info.

EDIT:
From using the /usr/bin/vdsl command I think the new bad behaviour is caused by the firmware of the Ikanos VDSL chipset:
Code:
cpe>
BME Firmware Versions
=====================
Firmware-VTU-R:1.68.15.16 Time Aug 25 2010, 15:22:53
RTOS 1.13.1
BME R:96 AFE<num, ver>  <0:f1>
IFE<num:Dev.Rev> <0:241.0>
The question is now how to flash the old BME firmware (if flashed at all, sometimes it is loaded dynamically by some kind of module during system init)

I can't find a BME firmware file (at least not in /lib/modules, there are others but not for the BME) so it seems it is flashed during firmware upgrade.
