Hi,

Is there a way to access the config page of the Fritz!box 7050 from the WAN side? (so, from another computer at another Internet location, of course with a password)

In other routers there is usually a setting "allow access to config page via WAN", but I don't see it in the 7050...

Thanks!

This configuration does't exist in the fritzbox settings. So if you want to connect to the box from another internet location it is necessary to forward the port 80 to the internal address of fritz e.g. 192.168.178.1. But that's the problem. The portforwarding settings in webinterface doesn't allow that setting because the 192.168.178.1 is an "internal ip". AVM says NO! But it is possible to edit a file named "ar7.cfg" in the flash directory of the box to add this entry manually in the section "forwardrules". It's very tricky! It is strongly recommended to connect with "openVPN" or "openSSH" to ensure a safety access. But it is necessary to modify the box.

Best regards

Thank you, it is working now! :-)
