[Frage] asterisk fax

Hi, i am running debian squeeze and asterisk 11. i would like to stop using the ordinary analog fax machine, but get the fax and send it to email. I am getting the PSTN line through Linksys SPA3102. The fax has a dedicated [noparse]number(12345678)[/noparse].
Is there any tutorial on how to get it to setup?
The email service now is running exim4 and currently sends the voicemails.

There are two different approaches You may choose from:

• Direct fax handling within Asterisk, using res_fax and res_fax_spandsp (Asterisk needs to be installed with these modules) and a bit logic for sending out the incoming tiff-files to an eMail-Account
• Indirect fax handling using Hylafax connected to Asterisk with iaxmodem, Hylafax will be responsible for the whole fax-handling incl. eMail-Messaging.

But be aware: Choosing any of the possible VoIP-solutions for faxing may be less stable compared to a classical analogue fax machine on a POTS-line.
