Can someone explain me what the difference is between:

- "Call rejection on busy (Busy on Busy) [Ruf abweisen bei besetzt]

Incoming calls are rejected when a call is already in progress at the extension."

and:

- "Disable call waiting [Signalisierung eines zweiten Anrufs während eines Telefonates verhindern]

During a call, no signal indicates when a second call to the number arrives. The caller hears a busy signal."

If a Fon with Busy on Busy aktive is in use and call waiting ist disabled all incomming calls will be rejected immediately (no other Fon is ringing).

If a Fon with Busy on Busy aktive is in use and call waiting ist enabled all incomming call will be rejected after request or at latest 30s (other Fon is ringing for a maximum of 30s).

Without Busy on Busy aktive You can not reject a 2. incomming call completely if it is also ringing on an other Fon.

Thanks for your replies!

But what if "Busy on busy" is disabled, and "call waiting" is disabled? Does the 2nd caller then hear a busy tone?

And if "Busy on busy" is disabled, and "call waiting" is disabled, does the 2nd caller then just hears the ringing signal?

That depend on the setting off the other Fon-Ports.

If one of the other Fon-Port is able to ring a 2. caller hears the normal ring signal.

If one of the other Fon-Port is not able to ring a 2. calle wrill be rejected as it happens with "Busy on busy"

If you use Analogue landline you should not use busy-on-busy.
This should only be used if you have ISDN oder no landline.

Is that because on an analogue line, the Fritz!box can not signal the exchange that the line is busy?

BTW, in my English Fritz!box, the "Disable call waiting" is explained as:

During a call, no signal indicates when a second call to the number arrives. The caller hears a busy signal.

I guess this is also not working on an analogue line? How can the Fritz!box generate a busy signal? By picking up the line (so the connection is actually made), and sending a busy signal?

The Fritz!Box makes pickup and hangup. This makes costs for the caller an the caller thinks that you don't want to speak with him.

"Disable call waiting" should make nothing. If it is off your her a beep if you are phoning an someone other is calling in. If it is off you hear nothing.
In both cases other phones ring if they are configured to the same number.

This doesn't affect the call-waiting setting from your analogue line provider.
