Converting Fritz 7170 German Annex B to English Annex A

I purchased a Fritz 7170 from ebay in Germany. This was a German-language Annex B 7170. I converted this into an English-language Annex A 7170 via the following method:


1. Connect via FTP:

ftp 192.168.178.1
adam2
adam2
quote SETENV firmware_version avme
quote SETENV firmware_info 58.04.78
quote SETENV annex A
quote SETENV HWRevision 127
quote SETENV ProductID Fritz_Box_7170_AnnexA
quit


2. Without restarting the 7170, launch the English restore image from the AVM site:

FRITZ.Box_Fon_WLAN_7170.AnnexA.en.04.78.recover-image.exe


After conversion, the 7170 connects correctly with my Annex A DSL.
