Hello,

first of all, excuse me if I write this message in English: I'm italian and I can't speak German, sorry.

I need some help in using a Diva Server BRI-2M-PCI rel. 1.0 on my Asterisk box with italian ISDN line.

My Asterisk box is a Trixbox 1.2.3 updated, and I've installaed the latest melware driver (divas4linux-melware-3.0.5-106.704-1) and the chan_capi 0.7.0

Everything seems to work fine: I can make outgoing calls and receive incoming calls on both channels of the ISDN: good!!

The problems are the following:

1. if the destination is busy, I don't hear the busy tone in the phone, but the normal "Cal in progress" tone, for almost 30 secs: after this time I hear correctly the "Busy" tone.
In this time th Asterisk CLI shows the following:
Code:
    -- Called g1/32xxxxxxxx/b
    -- CAPI/ISDN1/32xxxxxxxx-14 is proceeding passing it to SIP/212-08cdd9d8
    -- CAPI/ISDN1/32xxxxxxxx-14 is making progress passing it to SIP/212-08cdd9d8
and after 30 secs
Code:
       > ISDN1#02: CAPI INFO 0x3491: User busy
  == ISDN1#02: CAPI Hangingup for PLCI=0x301 in state 4

I've tried to change something in the driver configuration script, changing for example from ESI to Italy the stabdard, but nothing appens: do you have some suggest to solve this problem?

2. I hear in the phone th "Call in progess" tone before than the other side phone begins to drin

3. if I call a mobile phone that is off or out of coverage, I don't hear the fist part of the message from the mobile operator, i.e. "Vodafone, free message. The user you have called is unavailable at the moment" and I hear directly the voicemail message of the remote user

4. If I try to use the "echicancel=yes" directive in capi.conf I receive the message
Code:
  == ISDN1#02: Setting up echo canceller (PLCI=0x301, function=1, options=4, tail=128)
    -- ISDN1#02: Error setting up echo canceller (PLCI=0x301)
       > ISDN1#02: CAPI INFO 0x300b: Facility not supported
Instead, if I use "echicancelold=yes" everything works fine, and the voice quality is very good, without any echo.

The real annoying problem is the nr.1: I will really appreciate any help.
Thank you.

Okay, the problem 1,2 and 3 are solved :) :)
They were a matter of the option "r" in the dial application: I've removed the "r2 and everything works fine, with the "Early B3" option in the Dial command.

Still no news on the "echocancel" question (the number 4 in my previous post): with my actual settings ("ehocancelold=yes" and "echotrail=128") the quality of the calls is good enough, but there is still a little amount of echo in calls to/from analogic lines.

Someone out there has any suggestion?

Bingo!

The problem nr.4 is solved too: it was a matter of the firmware: accoding to armin, in the mailing list of melware.de, the Rev.1 cards from eicon can work only with older version of firmware, availabl for download from the ftp server of meleware.

I've dloaded them, susbstituted them in the source of the melware drivers, recompiled and reinstalled, now everything works good.
:D :D :D
