I would try this myself now, but I will be a couple of hundred miles away from my router for a week or so...
It occurs to me that many people *might* be satisfied with being able to administer their box in English even though the firmware stays German.
I can see no reason why a Greasemonkey script in Firefox which did a "naive" search and replace on text strings should not be able to do the job.
Looking at "Dive into Greasemonkey" at http://diveintogreasemonkey.org/casestudy/index.html and without any knowledge of javascript, I can make a script (based on DumbQuotes) which randomly alters phrases on a a given website (a proper script would need to list all the alternative local addresses for the router). On that page is also a script which change images to text based on ALT tags (Frownies). Many slightly more complicated scripts on the internet can convert images to alternate images.
This would only work for people with Firefox and Greasemonkey (I don't think user scripts exist on Internet Explorer, for example). And it wouldn't be any use for remote access. But it could be useful, and if kept updated it would presumably work for all versions of the Fritzboxen.
What does anyone think? Even if no-one else does it
