@ Feuer-Fritz: Unfortunately these links will not be of much help in this case. The first link leads to a solution how to change Annex from B to A and the others are doing virutally the same. But jeanmib needs Annex B - but English interface.
@jeanmib: You need an English Annex B firmware uploaded to your box. The latest one is 29.04.82 and you can find it
on AVM ftp server.
But it is not possible to simply upload this fw as a normal firmware upload as your box got some features/data that have to be changed before.
To prepare the procedure you should download the before mentioned fw 29.04.82 AND -more important even- the RECOVER Version of
"AnnexB.en.04.82.recover-image.exe". You should also disable "mediasense" in Windows registry -provided your OS is XP:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters
# Add the following registry entry to the Parameters subkey:
Name: DisableDHCPMediaSense

The best way to do the necessary changes "inside" the box is through the box' own ftp server.
After disabling mediasense power off your FRITZBox and type (do not ENTER yet) into the "Execute"-Window:
ftp 192.168.178.1
Power on your FRITZ and after app. 3 seconds hit ENTER (ftp access is available only in the first 5 seconds after power on). This should open a "black" window:

JUST RUN "recover-image.exe" AnnexB.en.04.82 IMMEDIATELY!
That's it - now your 7170 should run with fw "AnnexB.en.29.04.82"

EDIT: Unfortunately it seems my comment came somewhat late! Recommend you go back to "firmware_version" German=avm: Open ftp as described before and do enter ONLY "quote SETENV firmware_version avm". This should bring you back to the German interface. After that you might still follow my suggestions. (After your action now "firmware_version" is changed to "avme" but fw still remains German-B. This causes the box' confusion)
Better do this through a LAN cable connection - not WiFi
