    I've got FBF 7170 V1 GMX 1&1 Annex B unbranded to AVM. I can't update firmware other then 29.04.01. If firmware is 29.04.01 then all is o.k. but when I update firmware to other new, my box say: Kernel panic - not syncing: No answer on upper layer Control channel! UBIK2 probably dead!
    :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

    please, help !

    EVA bootloader

    Hi, problem still in progress.....

    Version of my bootloader is EVA 1.136, maybe is too old ?

    How to change bootloader from 1.136 to 1.153 ??? and where's download ?

    My box working only with firmware 29.04.01 (2.4 kernel)

    Hi lewiatanx,
    you might get more feedback if you had posted in this forum: FRITZ!Box tot? Recover, Firmware Up-/ Downgrade. The structure of the IP-Phone-Forum may look somewhat stupid but it has just grown that way.

    I suppose you've bought a German Fritzbox and you want to use it in say, Kirgizstan, or in Papua-New Guinee, or you tell us where. But first tell us what you have already done to it.

    The easiest way would have been to update to the newest German firmware and then change the branding to avme and recover with the newest English (annex-B) firmware. Then switch the modem to the annex A standard and that's it. Make subsequent updates always with the newest English annex-B firmware, the modem will stay in annex A mode.

    Update your Fritzbox with these pseudoimages fritz_as_avme_newer.tar and fritz_as_annex_a_kernel_args_newer.tar to perform the changes. If you have already fiddled with the environment variables make sure your HWRevision is still 94.1.0.0

    Good luck!
