Feature Request: FTP users

Hello,



I need to have more than one user for the FTP server of my fritz 7270 running freetz (with vsftpd).
I also need to give different permissions and different folders to different users.

Is that possible ?

Jep, read about "linux", "users" and their "home". On Freetz you have to "modusers save" to save changes

... you have to "modusers save" to save ...

For saving passwd i have used modsave flash and modsave.

Thanks for your replies.
I know how linux users works....
However, the USB drives has with 777 permissions....
The process vsftpd os owned by the ftpuser user....
Any help?

chroot jail activated? Then you shouldn't get any problems as far as the home directories are configured for each user (since you'll have the possibility to assign the user, ...).

root:x:0:0:root:/mod/root:/bin/sh
ftpuser:X:1000:0:ftp user:/var/media/ftp:/bin/sh
UserAB:XXXXXXXXX:1001:0:ftp user:/var/media/ftp/uStor01/UserAB/:/bin/sh
UserXY:XXXXXXXXX:1002:0:ftp user:/var/media/ftp/uStor01/UserXY/:/bin/sh

If you encounter permission problems try chown. Perhaps you'll tell us which filesystem is in use.
