Features request plus enhancement to Speed2Fritz

Hallo all,

here are some points which i figured out when using speed2fritz

My test bed is: Speedport w701, Linux Ubuntu 9.x, Jpasher script 30.5

1- When setting a different Branding -> Router gets in continuous reboot

2- When Freetz script starts, it asks to update from svn source:-
a- This must be answered with "y", otherwise you may get long file name if you run the script more than once

3- Replace kernel does not function or i did not find a way to get it working correctly. may be it was correlated with Branding set above

4- In the html files, after extraction, it would be nice to give a pause so that one can make fine editing on the html files

5- USB Devices apear in my front page GUI, however i don't have usb devices

6- It would be nice to change the word Fritz!Box in the html files to some other brand (set in sp-to-fritz GUI). I tested it as follow

sed -i 's/Fritz!Box/yourbrand/g' *.html

But it gets into a continuous reboot (please confirm)


any comments in English or German would be appreciated

1- When setting a different Branding -> Router gets in continuous reboot

This option is not for setting other branding as supported by firmware in use. There is no reason for setting a different branding at all, because the only one that give full menu options are avm or avme all others are usual limited in same way. Using avme or avme douse not limit to one brand.


2- When Freetz script starts, it asks to update from svn source

a- This must be answered with "y", otherwise you may get long file name if you run the script more than once only

True my be it it is better to change this.


3- Replace kernel does not function or i did not find a way to get it working correctly.
In most cases this will work but if the is not a special reason one should stay without this option. Landing in a reboot loop my be the case thats true.

Yes i think about it.

This could be a special Freetz related problem.

It is depending on the newer firmware types impossible because newer firmwares use special language data-bank and no real text is within html files any more. You could edit the language data-bank but if words are replaced within this data-bank one has to replacer it with exactly the same amount off characters, and not all chars count as one.
