I am in the UK but have a German Fritz!box fon wlan.

I bought it second hand with HAVEANICEDAY Fon WLAN, Firmware Version 08.04.02

It is working fine but I thought it is probably time to upgrade the firmware so downloaded the latest annex B firmware (fritz.box_fon_wlan.en.08.04.26.image) from the English page of the AVM website. When I try to apply this firmware the box reports that the file does not contain a valid image for the device.

Can I not apply the English firmware to my German box? Any advice on what is the best firmware for me to use would be much appreciated.

Thanks

John

No, that is not possible. You need the German FW.
Basicly the Distance between .02 and .26 is too large.
Therefor you need at first a Firmware between them, of course the .15 in German. ;)

EDIT: If you are searching for the firmware, post your request in this Thread, please.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions. That's a pain. My technical German is very poor. In fact my German does not go much beyond ordering the beers. :saufen2:

I can't find any older revisions of the firmware. Where can I get one? Are they available on the AVM site?

Does anybody know of an English translation of the German firmware?
