Hello!

I have a problem with dyndns, my Fritz is behind a cable modem/router (act as a router not in bridge mode), if I use the dyndns option in the Fritz, then the Fritz send its inner 192.168.xxx.xxx ip address, not the cable modem's 176.xxx.xxx.xxx address to the Dyndns server.
Fritz has the latest official english firmware.
I tried 2 ways: Fritz got IP from router by DHCP and I tried with fix IP but the result is the same.

Any suggestion?

Thanks in advance.

If your FritzBox is not a border device (... that means, the FritzBox has not an external public routable ip address), you should not use the unmodified FritzBox as a dynamic dns update client.

The Fritzbox must be configured as IP Client. This ist not possible with some Models of 7170, please check your Serial number here.

Nonetheless, you cannot use it as a DynDNS client. The Fritzbox with the original firmware is not able to obtain your public IP address.

[Edit Novize: Fullquote deleted - see our board-rules]

and does it exist another firmware which can be do it?

Thank you.

My router doesn't have dyndns option. I look at last night the Freetz, it is a big job, but a nice job to do it.
