Fritz!Box Fon ATA and recovery problem !!! (english)

Hello,

I need some help:

Fritz Box Fon ATA (freenet edition)

I won`t upgrade german fritz 2 english.

I have recover.exe and fritz.box_fon_ata_beta.image.

When i run recover.exe -f fritz.box_fon_ata_beta.image i have:

"recover.exe: Firmware von fritz.box_fon_ata_beta.image geladen
recover.exe: Suche FRITZ!Box ...
recover.exe: Keine FRITZ!Box gefunden
recover.exe: error = 1"

My fritz default ip is 192.168.178.254 (i just change to 192.168.178.1 and )

What i`m doing wrong ?

Pleas help in english

I am not sure what you want to do.
Why don't you take the official upgrade from here:
ftp://ftp.avm.de/fritz.box/fritzbox.fon_ata/firmware/ ?

Do you want to change to an english version ?

I expect it's best:
- do an update to the actual version
- May "unbrand" to an AVM version

recover.exe is just required if you can not access the regular Web interface.
Also you need to power off/on the box during recover.exe is running.
( recover just can run during the first 5 seconds of box booting )

I have actual deutsch version of firmware.

What should i do next ?

You can change the brand from freenet to avm with this file:

- upload the file as it is. No unpack of the tar file.
- ignore the error message you get. It means "error: no error"
( I was too lazy to prepare a proper message for it )

I do not know currently hot to change it to an english version.
There is a "risk" about crashing the internal settings. May be somebody
else can help.

I personally would wait for an english version from AVM or ask their support
if you can get a version for your personal usage. ( Do not know if they provide ).
I would surely not do a "downgrade" with an old english version.

So, I just can help to set the box to AVM.
