Dear friends,

I'm happy to be here to you community.

Please let me know if there is any method to convert Fritzbox PSTN Annex A International to ISDN Annex B International ?

Thank you

Hi zaras27!

At 1st: Welcome to this forum! :dance:

Now an answer to Your "problem":
If You are already using an "international" version on Your 7170, there should be no reason to up- or downgrade the os running on the box.

Please check out if the "enhanced settings" are activated within the setup menu.
If done, You shoud have a choice to run Your box on annex a or annex b, including to choice between PSTN or ISDN within the connection settings.

@zaras27:

In principle, Joe57 is right - but only for the FB7270, not for the FB7170.
The FB7170 has no option to change between AnnexA and AnnexB via the GUI.
There is the "german version" with FW 29.04.xx and AnnexB only and the "international version" with FW 58.04.xx and annexA only.

There are many guides here in the forum explaining how to convert a "german" 7170 AnnexB into an "international" 7170 AnnexA.
Use the search function!

In order to help you we need some more information!
- what firm version runs on your FB7170 ?
- is the box a 7170_v1 or a 7170_v2 (different hardware) ?
- are you familiar with linux, telnet and ftp ?

@el_valiente:
Sorry, I didn't know that. :mad:

But: There are several englisch images available on the AVM-Server.
As well as the corresponding recovery files.

@Joe_57:

You are right, in principle, again.
The firm versions 29.04.xx are AnnexB; some of them come in german, some in english.
The firm versions 58.04.xx are AnnexA; again there exist german and english versions.

The problem is, that the "german" 7170 hardware does not allow to load any 58.04.xx firm (neither image nor recovery).
Some environment parameters must be changed, previously ("annex" and "HWRevision").
That's the reason why I asked zaras27 if he is familiar with telnet and/or ftp.

O.K. I Think I have to leave this field now, but going on reading within this thread.... Just for learning. ;)

Dear friends thanks for the replies and let me answer to your questions.

El valiente you are right I cannot change it through the interface.
I don't know linux etc...
I search inside before I post and you are right that there are a lot of methods but not what I am asking .
I'm asking actually the opposite from the results, to convert an International Annex A to German Annex B which is might not possible ...

... to convert an International Annex A to German Annex B ...
That should be possible, too.
But, anyway, you should tell us what firm you do use, presently.

To change from AnnexA to AnnexB try to run "fritz_as_annex_b_kernel_args_newer.tar".
You will find this "pseudo image" somewhere here in the forum.
Just load it as an image file, using the "update" option at the GUI.
Don't care about messages, simply continue with the image until "Fehler - kein Fehler" appears.
After a reboot your 7170 should be AnnexB.

Good luck.

And please, don't use full quotes - mods don't like that ...

The firmware is Firmware version 58.04.76

@zaras27:

Ok, than try it with "fritz_as_annex_b_kernel_args_newer.tar"
