I. got a new handset (I already have a SL450) the E720HX for my parents which is supposed to be better for them ie bigger fonts, more sound but it seems
Gigaset has adjusted the volume to be lower compare to the SL450. I tried a call using the handset itself using the earpiece and a bluetooth headset and in both cases the volume
what lower. I increased the volume from the menu on both cases but it was already on the maximum setting. I am surprised because this handset is supposed to be specialized
for elderly but it seems still needs some improvements. I hope Gigaset to release a new firmware where the digital gain on the volume to be higher.

My mistake. I was referring to the E720HX which is the latest from the E series with bluetooth
I should change the topic name to reflect the E720. I am not sure if I can do that

the volume was lower
Which DECT base station do you use? Some allow adjustment of the gain, too.
I guess, you are looking for other Gigaset E720HX user who is able to confirm your finding/comparison. I do not think, we have so many who have experience with that handset, yet. Furthermore, your particular unit might be broken. Did you consider to return/exchange it?

I. tried the handset with the N300IP and then I registered it with a fritz router 7530. On both cases the volume came low.
Initially I thought to exchange it because I thought the handset has a defective earpiece but when I get the same results when
using a bluetooth headset and exactly the same bluetooth headset that i was using with the SL450 then I realized that the volume
has been adjusted on that level no matter if the user uses the handset itself or a bluetooth headset.
I was thinking if there is a secret menu when I can increase the volume gain,

Bluetooth … might be, can be, could be. Perhaps not the earpiece but the logic board is defective (or wrong calibrated).
Anyway, in a FRITZ!Box 7530, you are able to increase the gain through editing the handset entry (last tab). However, the overall quality might degrade.

The full variant of the manual sounds like having changed the behavior from an ‘extra-loud level’ – another level in the upper-control key menu – to a dedicated ‘boost key’ – a hardware key, in this new Gigaset model. In other words, I do not own a Gigaset E720HX, but according to that manual, you do not select the highest level via the control key anymore, but you press that boost hardware key. Is that correct? Do you see that extra exclamation mark then while being in a call?

I tried that extra button at the side of the handset which is a boost volume button. It did increase a bit the volume but nothing that specially. You can barely noticed that.
In theory this boost button is for people that can not hear very well but it seems this button does not even work for the normal people :)
I think this handset on the first firmware has been calibrated quite low. I wish if gigaset reads this forum to see that problem and to provide a higher gain volume on the next firmware release

I know the ‘extra-loud feature’ from the Gigaset E560HX, Gigaset E370HX, and Gigaset E390HX. This is very much louder. However, the frequencies change a bit, too. So, depending on how you hear, it might not improve the overall conversation. You have to press that button while in a call … I doubt this is a general problem – Gigaset is not that bad at quality control. If your folks are using a hearing aid, you should double-check with its specialist whether the telephone mode of the hearing aid gets activated correctly. Long story short, I recommend exchanging that handset. Suppose the second one is not within your expectations either … time for a Gigaset S850HX or SL450HX.

You are right. I never had any E series handset. My folks are ok from the hearing perspective and my mother was keep complaining about the low volume.
What surprises me is that the low volume is on the bluetooth headset as well. That indicates me that the earpiece does not have a problem but the handset has been setup or
let's say calibrated like that. I know it is a new handset so maybe things got wrong during calibration. I will see what I can do. Maybe I will keep this headset so I can experiment and I will get another SL450HX or an S850HX for my parents

Well, just to let everyone know that there was a firmware update for the E720HX and gigaset heard me. The bluetooth and handset volume is louder and now I can use it.
The volume still need more gain (I would say 2 steps for the headset and one step for the bluetooth). Without the amplification button the volume is still low that is the reason
I say 2 more steps of increase but with the amplification it is fine.
I tried only one headset (jabra talk 45) and it is ok now at least I can talk on the phone using the bluetooth headset but it would be way better if the volume was one step higher.
Also I have to note here that not all bluetooth headset have the same max volume so it would be better to use the phone as max volume the 4 bars and leave the 5th for low volume bluetooth headsets.
I guess it took some time for gigaset to fix the volume problem but it is getter there. I will be waiting now for the next update in order to see the further improvements in terms of the volume

Usually, when there was change, no additional change is going to come – except you contact and complain with Gigaset support directly (again?).
