[Frage] Möglichkeit dual WAN mit freetz

Hello there, my German is not so good so I'll post in English. You can always answer in German though.
I have a setup in mind for my network: currently I have two providers with their own routers that each separately their subnet, one for clients one, one for servers.
Using Freetz, i'd like to combine the functionality of two different routers in one FritzBox 7390 (see attachment).

The clients should be able to access the servers over the internal network, while the servers should use the VDSL uplink by default, and the clients should use the cable internet uplink by default.
Is this setup possible with Freetz? Thanks for your help!

There is no support for this in Freetz, but you can try it.

Thanks, so in theory it should work? I've been looking in in the wiki for the required packages, and as I see it I'll need:

• Bird - configure routing and routing preferences for each subnet
• dnsmasq - providing the subnets with dhcp & dns
• cpmaccfg - configuring port 1 for extra WAN, port 2 for subnet server, port 3 to subnet clients

I'll study the possibilities and report back as soon as I achieve something.

I don't think bird is what you need, I think you should look for iproute2.
Your routing tables are quite simple, you just need different tables for different source addresses.

Is it really necessary to have 2 different subnets?
With Both routers in the same subnet but different IP´s and DHCP off insite the VDSL-Router you can simply use this router as an own gateway for the servers.

It's not really a requirement to have two different subnets. If I can do it with one it's okay as well. What I want to achieve is that the server uses the up/download of the VDSL connection (unlimited volume). The cable connection is faster and has way better pings. All clients and VoIP phones should use this connection by default.
If I use one subnet, how should I configure the fritzbox to make sure the server(s) use the VDSL connection?

The suggestion from RudatNet basically means that you should continue to use two routers, which you said you don't want to.
Also, you VDSL-Router seems to be the 7390, so it's not possible to use the VDSL-Router in addition to the 7390.

Whether you have one subnet or two, if you want to use the 7390 for both internet connections, you need different routing tables depending on the source address of the packets.

Thanks guys, I think I'm getting closer to my final design. According to the wiki I should be able to "partition" the switch cpmaccfg as in the image below:


I've researched how to use iproute 2 and I think I've got the basics in my mind.
Using the following table I should be able to configure the routing:

I hope I have some time tonight to play with my 7390!
