mount with -async

USB disk with fat32 system on my FB7141.
In debug.cfg I mount it with option -sync. What will be the difference while using -async option? Theoretically speed of disk writing should be faster. Is it so?
Will it brings problems for disk disconnecting without unmount?

async is not really faster that sync. It just seems so because the data is buffered.
If you disconnect too cearly without umount, you will loose your data.
