No beta firmware for International editions?

Hi,

Sorry for writing in English, but my German is quite bad unfortunately...

Recently I bought a 7050 here in Belgium ("International", annex A). I didn't want to buy the German version and then have to void the warranty and possibly end up with a dead box by trying to change it to English and annex A...

It's a *great* box! However, it was a big dissapointment to find out that there are no beta updates for this version at all! I have firmware version 14.03.91, and on http://www.avm.de/en/fritz_box_fon_wlan_7050_firmware/ I can read "An update for FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7050 is currently not available."

This is really a pity. Why doesn't AVM support the International version better? Maybe because the Fritz!box is not very well known outside Germany? There is still no International version of the 7170 available...

I'd like to have more options like a selectable DHCP range (does anyone know what the standard range is?)

Anyway... does anyone know where or how to get the beta's working on this version?

I have not read that anyone has succesfully changed a German 7050 to English. The main reason is that there is no firmware update in order to do it.

AVM is a German company and is focused on the German market. It is surprising that they even came out with an international model at all.
As am International Box customer of AVM's you should give them for sure an email of your distress that you just bought an International Box that has never had a firmware update.

If you can read enough German to deal with the German user interface you could use the German model. I've got one that is set to Annex A. We can swap if you want

You can always set it back to original as long as it's not completely destroyed. Don't worry about the warranty, AVM won't ask you when and where you bought it.
