Hi,
Sorry for using English but my German is not on sufficient level.
I have problems with flashing my Fritz 7240. It is 1&1 version running 73.04.76 firmware. In general I upload the modified firmware, I’m warned about firmware which is not from AVM and then that the box will reboot. It reboots very quickly, but there is still the original firmware and there is nothing available on port 81.
So the symptoms are quite like described in following threads: 7270 lässt sich nicht patchen and Newbie: Hilfe zu erstem Flash!!!, as well as on Freetz FAQ.
I’ve spend several evenings trying things described on those links. So I tried following:
How can I fix it? Please help!
Thank you in advance!

So the symptoms are quite like described in following threads: 7270 lässt sich nicht patchen and Newbie: Hilfe zu erstem Flash!!!, as well as on Freetz FAQ.
I’ve spend several evenings trying things described on those links. So I tried following:
- Minimal image (just model selected) on Freetz 1.1.2 and from SVN freetz-stable-1.1. Older releases (1.0.3 or 1.1.1) did not work, since they were trying to download firmware from AVM which is no longer available. The built was on Kubuntu 8.10 on Virtual Box.
- I tried to shrink the image using “Remove …” patches. So my image was even smaller by about 1MB than one provided from AVM
- I used recover.exe to clean up the box.
- I tried building with real computer with Fedora 12 64bit and Freetz 1.1.2. Again default Freetz image and trimmed version.
- Tried AVM firmware 73.04.80 and 73.04.76.
How can I fix it? Please help!
Thank you in advance!
