Will flashing fw many times wear the flashrom?

With all those firmwares and freetz flashing and reflashing on the fritz boxes, will they have effect over time? wear of flashrom? web about flash rom erase cycles says that this kind of memory has about 10,000 or 100,000 erase cycles, does it apply to fritz flash rom?

how many times have you already flashed your fritz? (hope less than 10,000 )

if i'm not mistaken, i should have already done about 15-20+ firmware flashes on my 7140.

Well, 10,000 Cycles is the guaranteed minimum for older flash memory.

I think you will find it difficult to flash your firmware 10,000 times.

well, my question was not much about 10,000 or so, but did anybody ever loose the fritz due to those many fw updates?

btw, now after many fw updates i notices that the serial number of the box is all zero's 0000000, i don't remember before using dsmod/freetz if it wqas something else. is it lost forever now? or a recovery image will set it back?

I flashed my Box many times (>100) and didn't see any problems. And my serial number was set to zeros after I unpacked mit Fritz!Box.
