Currently Freetz uses avm firmware version 99.04.90 for the 7340. Could/will Freetz be made compatible with the new 7340 firmware (because right now it obviously isn't)?

Thank you for the reminder. I don't get news for the international firmwares.

Regards
Oliver

Please give it a try. But don't forget to get a recover image before it has come too late.

Oliver

I had to recover the box. My Freetz setup works fine as long as I don't use "replace kernel". If I do, the power/DSL led just keeps blinking indefinitely and the AVM web-interface is unreachable.

Thank you, olistudent.

The 7270 has an update as well.....
I needed to recover a Fritzbox recently and lost all the settings because the "upgrade" to Freetz was seen as a downgrade...

Okay. Then I will disable replace kernel for 7340 05.05.

Regards
Oliver

This is perhaps a little bit off-topic, but these things only happened after I changed from 04.90 to 05.05. The only things not working for me now are 1) starting subversion and 2) logging in with vsftpd/dropbear sftp. Logging in via shell gets me:

It's not a big thing though, I can always go back to 04.90 if I really want to get those things working again.

Subversion not starting:

Code:
start-stop-daemon: can't execute '/usr/bin/svnserve': Permission denied
Starting subversion ... failed.

This doesn't have to do anything with the new firmware. The user test does work like root for you with 04.90? I don't think so!?

Oliver

It's just that a few weeks ago I could log in fine, but it's clearly something else then. Thanks for clearing that up.

I would wonder if these messages
Code:
-sh: /etc/init.d/rc.conf: line 4: can't create /var/env: Permission denied
rm: can't remove '/var/htmltext.db': Permission denied
ln: /var/htmltext.db: File exists
rm: can't remove '/var/TZ': Permission denied
ln: /var/TZ: File exists
do not always appear when login with a user different from root.

Regards
Oliver

You're right, they do.

syslog fritzbox 7340

Okay. Then I will disable replace kernel for 7340 05.05.

Regards
Oliver

I have flashed the fritzbox 7340 with Freetz trunk 7793 with replace kernel on.

First I disconnect the dsl cable. Second I connect with the fritzbox and start logging with syslog.

Third I connect the dsl cable again and see the kernel panicking.

I want to be able to choose 'replace kernel', so I can add 'pptp' to Freetz.

Now I try to utilize pptp. I have servername, username and password. (works in Windows 7)

this fails with the following lines in Freetz:

Starting pptp:

modprobe: module sha1_generic not found in modules.dep
modprobe: module ppp_generic not found in modules.dep
modprobe: module ppp_async not found in modules.dep
Starting pptp ... failed.

The checkboxes of these three modules are checked (by default): Advanced Options - Kernel Modules under crypto and drivers.

I read somewhere I should pass "refuse-eap" to pppd. Only my current security level won't allow me.

I can find out how to change the security level and enter this in the box on the pppd page.

Good idea?

entering

refuse-eap

didn't work.

Still: The synchronous pptp option is NOT activated

These Code is built into kernel and the errors of modprobe could be ignored. I don't know why pppd doesn't connect.

Oliver
