Hello IPPF members and Siemens fans, I'm trying to bring to life a Siemens Homestation.
Scenario:
- German Fritzbox 7360 FW 6.01 with an analog phone connected to FON1 and internet cable connected to LAN1(no DSL). Alternatively, I could use a 7170 international edition.
- No fixed line, only a couple of voip account setup in FB
- Homestation with Siemens S35 or ME45 or MT50
Aim/Goal:
To Forward Calls: GSM<=>Voip.
What I did so far:
- Removed the RJ11 from the TAE-F-RJ11 cable that came with the HS and crimped an RJ45 to analog pins 3 and 6(on the FB side), original TAE connector for HS is crimped to pins 1 and 2(don't exactly know if this is an original HS cable or not)
- I connected the HS with the FB with the newly created cable.
Partial and interesting Results:
When calling the Siemens handy(CLIP is set up to DTMF or FSK, automatic doesn't fwd Clip):
- [Normal]Analog phone on FON1 rings as expected, up to 9 times and can take the call with no interruptions.
- [Normal]I get CLIP forwarded to the FB
- [Abnormal]FB recognises the HS as a 'festnetz' anschluss with 'Vorauswahl' *10#(the status for festnetz *10# turns green in FB menu)only during the gsm call, while calling the Siemens handy or while answering. After ending the call, the status for festnetz becomes inactive; same results when I tried with an original Y cable that had a TAE plug at one end.
- [Abnormal] Can't forward GSM<=>Voip.
Please help in getting this HS working.
I know it's easier to use a voip-capable 3G usb modem or a ZTE RL500 for this scenario(which I did), but I would like to combine vintage with modern technology, to prove for the new generation that vintage is still useful. :alt:
