Fritz!Box 7170 & Israel ADSL: authentications failed

Being very satisfied with Fritz and voip, i got from ebay a Fritz!Box 7141 for parents in Israel/Palestine, modded it with an italian AnnexA firmware, checked it with the italian Alice ADSL provider and it worked fine, sent it to israel: the adsl part is not working as expected:

the DSL line connection is up, but not the internet, as the authentication always fail.

the username contains a @ is it a problem?
with the other modem, a very simple Dynalink RTA1320 which works just fine, but i want to use the Fritz as an adsl modem because configuring fritz to get internet from LAN1 i lose the QoS, and voip calls get low quality line.

dsl1.png: the fritz dsl connection, it is up, and line quality is good, but pppoe authentications fails
dsl2.png: the dynalink modem line, same config/username/pass, it works fine

Hi Ramik,

I don't know whether there might be a problem with that @-symbol within the username, but that could be easily eliminated by simply copy & paste the userdata from a plain textfile into the fritz-webgui.

Nonetheless: your modem's screenshot clearly states that it uses QoS - so it should handle fritz-voip-traffic, which - as far as I know - has QoS-flags, without any loss of quality...

After all it also could be that some of the modifications you did stops fritz-dsl-part from working correctly?!

just to check: have you set the PVC to 8/35 on the FBF as the default is 1/35 ?

In case your provider runs on both it might be that you get the DSL sync'd but no PPPoE established

...... as far as I know - has QoS-flags, without any loss of quality...

i thought QoS works by setting special ports to listen to :s

anyway, maybe i fixed the issue: i bought the fritz from ebay from a seller who said that it is already in annex A, and in italy it worked with the italian ADSL, but i found that the CONFIG_VARS still say Annex B, i followed the vocesuip.com site and added the kernel_args annex=a and now it connects after few tries, before never connected !!!

but now i want to add Freetz to it, and i don't know which FW to put
