Fritz!Box Fon WLAN 7050 1&1 to Annex A ?

@imagomundi, doc456

Thank you for your replies. I haven't been successful yet. :(

1- When I manually set XP PC to 192.168.178.2 , fritz.box_fon_wlan_7050.04.15.recover-image.exe searches FritzBox on 192.168.178.3

When I manually set PC IP to 192.168.178.3 image recovery search Fritz.box on 192.168.178.2 but it keeps searching and nothing happens even after 5-10 minutes.

I have lowered LAN adaptor speed to 10Mbps Half Duplex but still the same, media sensing is disabled. Using a short cross cable.

Please help. :(

Ok, then take a normal Cat-Cable and use LAN A of the Box. Do not connect anything else with the Box.

I'm a little bit baffled because, in your very first post, you were able to run the recovery program successfully, albeit with a different version of the recovery program.
Why don't you do it the same way as before?

Indeed, somewhat strange: When you first tried to recover -without success- program searched FB on 192.168.178.1?

Do the following:

Do connect ONLY PC and 7050 (Lan A) -switch off any firewall and anti virus- set LAN card IP to 192.168.178.5, gateway to 192.168.178.1 and DNS server also to 192.168.178.1 - in "advanced" tick "activate netbios over tcp/ip"

Then try recover at least 3 times.

@KunterBunter

That was fritz.box_fon_wlan_7050.04.31.recover-image.exe that could run in windows 7 :( but fritz.box_fon_wlan_7050.04.15.recover-image.exe I am running on Windows XP PC and getting this error.

@imagomundi

I am now going to do it, I fear bricking my fritz though (I hope it can be recovered anyway? )

A bit off-topic:
Got five routers from Germany, including 3 Speedport W500v, flashed with Bitswitcher...VoIP not working...and I think Siemens Sx541 Annex B won't even work here... my free VoIP will be a dream ... ? :confused:

Got five routers from Germany, .....

You'd better bought only ONE suitable for your needs. 7170 is always a good and rather unexpensive choice for annex A and English language. Or somewhat more expensive: 7270.

All older boxes are - as a general rule- not recommendable.

It finally moved forward a bit, but with following error messages on 1st and 2nd try respectively.

2nd time I got this:

I haven't restarted router, waiting for reply from you guys :(

@imagomundi
Rest are for friends and family so we all talk for free... :$
Should I restart and ftp ? FTP access is still there if you see error message ? Can I manually ftp firmware info and flash again ?

Freetz isn't for my Fritz 7050 if I try that ? I used that once in VM player and cooked firmware for 7240 but that I had no idea of Annex A or B..finally returned 7240 :)

Seems that some "specialists" had done various mods on this box.

Enter into ftp:

quote SETENV annex,B
quote SETENV HWRevision,76
quote SETENV firmware_version,avm
quote SETENV firmware_info,14.04.15

bye

and RUN IMMEDIATELY AVM RECOVER 04.15

EDIT: You did all this thoroughly?

Do connect ONLY PC and 7050 (Lan A) -switch off any firewall and anti virus- set LAN card IP to 192.168.178.5, gateway to 192.168.178.1 and DNS server also to 192.168.178.1 - in "advanced" tick "activate netbios over tcp/ip"

One thing to motivate you a little more: My Bitswitcher is running very well with VoIP.
It's available in Annex A, and in English, too :)
But first get your Fritzbox running by following imagomundi's instructions point to point.

@imagomundi

Thank you for bearing me. Every time I was that only specialist following instruction on this great forum :) But to be a real specialist I will have to sacrifice many fritz. I tried to ftp but as according to my poor knowledge I had to restart router and then immediately in DOS had to ftp 192.168.178.1 ..right? I did that and router LEDs now blink all the same time after every 12 seconds. LAN Connection ( which is set to manual all according to your instructions) keep on connecting/disconnecting.

Is this thing bricked ? If that is please don't tell me today because I may jump outa window..after FritzBox..

@KunterBunter

You have been lucky, on bitswitcher forum many people complain of their voip part not working in W500V :)

P.S. I don't know if I will get my routers in working but I really loved you guys helping alot.

Keep your window closed!

For information: opening ftp the "soft" way (this is what you tried up to now) is only possible during the first 5 seconds after Power On. You might still try this.

If this doesn't work any more might use the "hard" way:

Start RECOVER with a recover-exe which is NOT suitable for the 7050 - might be from whatever other FRITZ (7170, 7270, 7150 - any other). When getting message "not compatible" tick "Abbrechen" - this leaves ftp access open without the 5 seconds limit.

Once ftp is open you might follow the instructions from above.

No, the box is too old for that, it still has the old kernel and bootloader :-(

In addition, the latest en Annex A FW for the 7050 is: fritz.box_fon_wlan_7050.annexa.en.14.04.26.image.

Note (sorry for German, it's only a hint that ruKernelTool only works with FW > .04.30):

- Für das Flashen ist es notwendig, dass bereits die Umstellung auf das neue Flashlayout voll-
zogen wurde, also bisher mindestens die Firmware-Version xx.04.30 und größer drauf ist! Das
ist einhergehend mit der Umstellung von Kernel 2.4 auf 2.6. Ebenso können nur Firmwaren
größer oder gleich xx.04.30 geflasht werden.

@imagomundi and other respected members,

I hope you all having a good day :)

I got the following error, I followed all steps in their true spirit :( yes running recovery of other models like 7170 opens access to ftp, then I did ftp commands and then tried to run 04.15 recovery and got this error.

You can knock me, but why can't funxlab use the English Annex A Recover :confused:
You'll find it here fritz.box_fon_wlan_7050.annexa.en.04.26.recover-image.exe

Are there any dependencies due to the branding?

Thanks for any clarification

May be you gurus can tell ?;)
Well I found that I am not the only one having this problem .. ..h Someone else also had the same problem, using google translate I found that he is probably giving some solution in the end, but what is that solution I can't understand, may be some other firmware ?

Did you try this recover version and which branding is now set ?

BR
KlausBock

BTW: I can't also understand this solution, but this was also a branding problem
