Yes, because the unmodified version contains script to download some packages from avm servers, and in the freetz version the packages are included.

After making room by externalizing sqlite and rsync I tried using the German preview version with annex A added. Unfortunately this doesn't work: the box keeps rebooting. Given the sequence of the leds, I guess something is wrong with DSL. After restoring the international version the Fritz!Box settings were gone (the Freetz settings were still there). Fortunately I was prepared, because I had a backup. So this adventure wasn't a success, but also not a failure, because I could restore everything.

Did you change the firmware_version to avm when using the german version?

If you mean firmware language, that was (automatically) set to German.
Else, could you please explain what you mean?

firmware_version is an environment variable of the urlader. Please use the search function.

For others searching for this:

Patches > Add > Enforce urlader environment > Enforce firmware_version variable

Press H for sensible options (probably avm or avme, depending on where you want to go).

I am not going to try it, because the preview version doesn't include IPv6 anyway.
