UK cid only area code internet fine

7050 and 7140 both in the call list show only the area code of the calling party?

internet telephony calls and calls outgoing fine anyone any ideas?

Could You tell what kind of fixed line do you have (Analogue or ISDN)?

Or do the calls come in also via internet?

it is a standard analogue line.

calls from the internet provider (sipgate) the cid is displayed fine.

calls from the pstn pots line only show the area code in the call log.

on the connected phone they are displayed fine?

CallerId in U.K. probably uses the BT standard, not the ETSI standard as in Germany and other continental European countries. The fact that the CallerId is signalled properly on the phone probably comes from the phone being capable of interpreting BT standard CallerIds itself.

yes

caller id in the uk is a bit strange.

will log a call with avm as prior to purcase i was assured it would work fine.

In the UK calls from BT separate the area code from the rest of the number with a minus symbol e.g xxx-xxxxxx. The same number from an internet call is shown as all numbers eg xxxxxxxxx so the problem is that the web interface is chopping the numbers after the area code. The full number still gets passed to the phone and even to calllog fine. Not much good if you want to use the click to call function though.
